President-elect Barack Obama’s Change.gov site listed Marijuana as Top Question.
December 13th, 2008Thursday, December 11th, the “open for questions” link on President-elect Barack Obama’s Change.gov website rated the question, “Will you consider legalizing marijuana so that the government can regulate it, tax it, put age limits on it, and create millions of new jobs and create a billion dollar industry right here in the U.S.?” as the question most popular. Leading by well over one thousand votes, with almost eight thousand voters who liked that particular question.
A few of the runner up questions are also related to Marijuana. Questions about taxing, age limits, and non-violent offenders to an industrialization of the “hemp” product. Many of the site’s voters veiw these questions as top priority. Industrialization and taxation would not only greatly increase the federal government’s income, this movement could also quel the State and federal feuds going on within thirteen of our own states.
Although there may be bigger questions in mind such as, the economical crisis, the big three auto makers and the questionable Constitutional amendments set by the Bush Administration. The questions related to marijuana seems to have climbed above all as the most popular amongst the viewers of Change.gov
Here is the Link to the “open for questions”. There are no more questions accepted at this time.
