Ok, all you technical guys bashing on Bronner that petroleum is a “natural and organic” product. You guys probably know this, but I think Bronner is reffering to currently growing matter that can be harvested. Petroleum is dead fossil matter. It can’t “grow” back once it’s harvested until millions of years later. It’s unsustainable, and that’s Dr. Bronner’s point. Would you rather use hydrocarbons that ‘s used for machines as a soap? Or would you rather have soap made for living organism like we humans?

Bronner says petroleum products are neither natural nor organic. What nonsense! Oil, a mixture of hydrocarbons is formed entirely naturally from the tissues of long-dead organisms. You can’t get much more organic than that. This is new age bullshit.

Well done, Dr Bronner’s Soap. I have no idea why they are using a test for soap to find date-rape drugs. I have been using your soap for 27 years, and have found it to be wonderful stuff. Keep up the good work…

Is it necessary to use the phrase “date rape drug” every time GHB is mentioned? I realize the media has done a wonderful job of spreading misinformation about GHB, but it’s a pretty lousy drug for spiking drinks. Sure, it has no color or odor, but the taste is a blend of burnt plastic and seawater.

It’s sad that GHB has been so demonized that even a blog favoring recreational drug use repeats the same misinformation.
