Alan Watts On Drugs

As we approach the estimated zero point of 2012 and a reality refresh, let us consider the pros and cons of the use of certain ‘drugs’ to aid our consciousness in getting there (by those who wish to experiment with such). Cut together from Alan Watts’ ‘Turning The Head (On Drugs)’ with musical backdrop by Kazufumi Kodama (‘Half Moon’) and Zoned Out (instrumentalised dance version of Jefferson Airplane’s ‘White Rabbit’). Thanks as always to all borrowed from for this video infomation mash up. If anyone didn’t know and happens to be interested: LEGAL psychedelics at the present time (in a large part of the world) include LSA (hawaiian baby woodrose seeds, morning glory seeds), salvia divinorum, fly agaric + peruvian torch cactus.

Wonderful clip, love the images and music. And of course, the words.

drugs as recreation, i dont care. As a means to expansion of consciousness, drugs are too artificial, temporary and arbitrary for any constructive expansion of consciousness. So, no point in using drugs for ‘consciousness’, IMHO, is not the right way to go.

@MoralisticAthiest In the words of Ken Kesey, ” Why is it that people think its so evil? (mystical/psychedelic experience)What is it that scares them so deeply? Is it because they are afraid, that there’s more to reality, than they had confronted (fear of unknown); that there are doors that they’re afraid to go in, and they dont want us to go in there either because if we go in, we might learn something THAT THEY DONT KNOW, and that makes us a little out of their control.”

  8. mikeisapro Says:

@MoralisticAthiest IMO the fear of the unknown is one of the strongest and most original fears in man, not only in america (though I do believe the american people are under control through fear via mainstream media propaganda which exploits this age-old fear in man of the unknown/uncertain, and are therefore a more fearful people than other nations)

you know…..perhaps western culture doesn’t take well to the mystical experience because most people here fear what they do not immediately understand :P Just a thought
