Portland police raided a home at 4511 NE Alberta St., Monday morning. In the basement, they found about 300 jars used to grow psychedelic mushrooms. Officers took a man and a woman into custody.

For some reason I am unable to fathom why it is illegal to eat these wonderful little beauties. They expand your mind, connect you with god and take the blinders off those brainwashed eyes.

Are humans not decomposers of materials that occur in nature as well. Do they not find a suitable living environment and eat like humans. just because they don’t have legs doesn’t mean they’re not like animals. but whatever. i’ve only read every just about every book about psilocybin mushrooms there is over the last 20 years. Most people would do well to LISTEN when the mushrooms speak. Most never will. how unfortunate.

For the people below saying that Shrooms are legal in Florida you are correct if they are fresh but cops still have the authority to arrest you even if they are wild. 9 times out of 10 you WILL be arrested for having them unless its a very small amount like under 1 gram. I know a guy (no naming) who was on the news down here, he was hunting for shrooms had around 2 grams of shrooms specifically (cyanescens) he was caught and arrested. He now has a third degree felony on his record.

But, there is a precedent in the case of mushrooms that protects those that are foragers of the glorious creature that is the mushroom.
Also oxygen is the only commonality, because they really are decomposers of materials that occur in nature not predators (except maybe the parasitic variety). They often are specialized based on the species. But this is mere opinion as to whether they are more like plant than animal. They might grow better if you talk to them as well…
